--[1.1 - Word from the Editor]-----------------------

The coverage of the Millenium Cultists is here at last, with one
winning Ahrimane deck and, er, my Ahrimane deck... I tried, I really
did, but I couldn't get the win. Anyway seems like there has been
quite a few Ahrimane decks played, but only one (so far) has won, so
here it is.

--[1.2 -Next Issue]------------------------------------

There maybe some hints of the forthcoming Sword of Caine set, plus I
will feature any additional Ahrimane decks that win Millennium Cultist
events. I will also return to the usual format of crypt and library
card features.

This was a pre-existing intercept deck, which I went with given the
storyline mechanic was based on calling votes. Only tweaks were to the
crypt (for storyline legality) plus a couple of extra Canine Hordes -
with free Assault Rifles and Flamethrowers floating around, these
proved invaluable.
It's been a while but here's what I can remember of the day. I had a
hard time getting to the final - in round one (0.5vp or 1.5vp, can't
remember exactly) I had a S&B predator while a Lasombra vote deck
cross table controlled the Reverend for a long time and powered up
enormously. The game ended up timing out with the Lasombra the winner
on VP. At least Muricia got to use Muricia's Call =)
In round 2 my initial predator was ousted by a rush combat deck, which
then rushed a couple of my minions at a crucial time allowing my prey
to oust my grandprey. I clawed back and eventually got my prey and
former predator with seconds to spare for 3vp/GW.
I just scraped into the final which ironically turned out to be my
easiest game of the day - both my prey/pred were vote based decks
without that much stealth. My prey had the Reverend briefly but I
ousted him. Then the Reverend took no further part in the game and
from memory I was lucky enough to get the table sweep.

Sadly I didn't do as well as Appolonius, my first round was good,
preying on a Toreador Grand Ball deck, with enough actions to burn the
Balls. I managed to get 1.5vps there, as we timed out as I was
working over my prey. In the second game the Reverend made an
appearance and my lack of voting power put paid to stealing him back.
The Tremere Antitribu managed to gain control of him, and then went on
to get the game win.
In the final the Tremere Antitribu deck feared sitting next to me, so
went opposite, this meant that the two vote decks were cross table
buddies. This meant that I couldn't do enough against the Toreador
Grand Ball as my predator, and I went out first...
The event was won in the end by a Ventrue Antitribu deck, which was
the other vote deck, but had more deflection and a lot of prevention -
counteracting all of those free guns.

Well I really enjoyed the Millennium Cultist event, as it forced more
interaction than you sometimes get on a table also the fact that you
can win something for the clan gives an extra edge to winning.
Hopefully you all got to play in an event, if not, sign up and run one
yourself, they really are easy to do.

Sam
