Hobbytown USA 1812 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. Charleston, SC 29406 Format: Standard constructed - Multideck August 23rd, 2008 2R + F Eight players were in attendance, four locals, three from Florence, and one from Atlanta. Two rounds were played leading up to the finals. Round 1 table 1: Ravnos with Anarch Revolts and serious Draba Proteolicious Skullduggery Ira Rivers, Alastor Kiasyd group 2-3 bleed The Ravnos player dropped an Anarch Revolt as the first card on the first turn. I responded with a Twilight Camp and an Anarch Convert. The Toreador and Kiasyd never made any minions Anarch, and took significant pool losses from the Anarch Revolt. Every action of the Kiasyd was an attempt to vote the AR out of play, and every attempt was blocked by the Ravnos. This game hinged on Madame Guil blocking a 2 bleed 2 stealth Skullduggery, and getting dunked with a Bone Spur. Lula Burch was sacrificed with a successful diablerie but the three capacity for full 10 capacity sacrifice was 100% worthwhile. Doubly true as the Toreador player had a Minion Tap in hand. The Kiasyd and Ravnos ground themselves down against each other, while the protean Anarchs removed the Toreador. The Kiasyd did manage to remove the Ravnos and then fell to the Anarchs. Constant Revolution also played a significant role, removing keys cards from players hands and having 6 counters when the final Skullduggery ousted the Kiasyd. Proteolicious Skullduggery 3 vp, Kiasyd 1 vp Round 2 table 1: Brujah Antitribu Majesty Vote Bleed Tzimisce Fiendish Tongue Carna Tremere Wall Sense the Savage Lasombra Way Horatio was out of the gate fast, bleeding for 3 before the Tremere had anyone in play, and with three pool transferred to the wrong minion, the Tremere started at a good disadvantage and was forced to be a wall, whether or not that was its goal originally. The Tzimisce eventually had 4 vampires before 1 was burned with a Walk of Flame. Carna and Cohn Rose never mounted any siginficant offense, and only one or two bleeds were ever bounced to the Brujah Antitribu. The Brujah Antitribu had a very frustrating game, with nearly every action blocked. A few important ones were not, including Iron Glare bleds for three and a Kine Resources Contested which ousted the unwary Tzimisce. Meanwhile, Servius Marius Pustula had built up 35 pool worth of minions in play, with a 10 card hand size. When the Tzimisce were gone, the animalism obtenebration minions ran the table. Lasombra 3 vp, Brujah Antitribu 1 vp Final Round Kiradin's Imposing Phantasms Ravnos Dementation Lord Ashton's Gangrel Ahrimanes Falconers Tremere wall, Carna - Selena - Ladislas Toth Kiasyd The Gangrel were a constant threat, with the only significant pool gain around. i.e. Zoo Hunting Ground, Vessel, Blood Doll, EcoTerrorists. There were three hunting grounds in play this game. The Siamese became Famous, and Howler built up two Murder of Crows and a Raven Spy. The Siamese was sent to torpor by her Tremere prey, with a second round Blood to Water hands for one combo. With the additional damage caused the by Gangrel's Dragonbound, this was two pool per turn that the Ahrimanes had to make up. Fame and Dragonbound killed three of the five players, with the resilience of the Ahrimanes and their Carrion Crows turning the corner on the remaining deck. Ahrimanes 4 vp, Ravnos 1 vp Some very interesting games and a good day trip.
